Last thing on the checklist

It is over, the fellowship. 3 months have never in my life seemed so long. We had our last session on the third Sunday of Ramadan 2020. What a year it has been so far.

The session started with some light chit chat and asking the quieter fellows to speak up. This went on for some time then around 20 minutes later we had sir Awais Farooq Roy join us. As a ‘pre-work’ of sorts, we were asked to read a summary of Peter Pan. Not a fan of him. Being the ninja I am, I skimmed through it while I was being connected. You are right, nothing went through my head.

Our guest speaker who was back by popular demand went on to tell us about childhood and how important it is to retain that childlike excitement and wonder in us no matter what. Some fellows were called out to share what they missed about their childhood and they all sounded quite sane. Weirdos. I was also singled out to share some of my favorite childhood memories. Because my childhood was filled with eating anything and everything and playing outdoors all the time, I told them that. Eyebrows were raised when the batch got to know that I owned a unicycle. One of my prized possessions. Sir Awais got a good laugh from my story.

I was looking forward to the chit chat for the last time with the fellows in our last session but we played scavenger hunt which lasted more than an hour and drained my energy towards the end because I was fasting too.

I am glad to have connected with fellows from diverse backgrounds and got to know their journeys. I learned a great deal from them.

We ended the session officially with a peek a boo pose-ish video which was entertaining. I am all for posting pictures but consent matters.

Until next time, hoomans!
